Tracking
We have a 9 foot chalk board in our bedroom - an artifact from grad school at CMU. I’ve been tracking my weight on it. It fits about a month long daily graph, and I’ve started to loop around in a different color chalk. The downward trend is easy to spot, and the looping makes it easy to see if you’re not keeping up with the previous month’s trend.
This kind of physical and public (to my wife) record is really, really useful. It’s better than other tools I’ve tried (even some custom python code I wrote myself).
I still would like a eating tracker that doesn’t require written or typed input. I want to click a button on my app and say out loud “I had an egg and some v8 for breakfast, and a bit of bagel”, and have the app parse it for me and sync to a public page like my tumblr.
