The mayor said the city attorney’s office has warned him the city would probably be sued over the matter, but he said it is worth the risk to try to curb a leading cause of obesity and diabetes. “We know we’ll be sued,” he said. “But I really believe this is important to do.

@GRL I just want the crap taxed, not banned. I’m for legalizing and taxing all vices. And yes, agricultural protectionism hurts us all just like any other kind of protectionism.

Sorry, but that isn’t the government’s job. This kind of thing sets a dangerous precedent where things a few degrees away from actually causing harm are regulated / taxed / banned / whatever.
The people I trust the least (the sociopaths who are good only at getting elected) get to choose the vice de jour.
