The renowned Mayo Clinic is no longer accepting some Medicare and Medicaid patients, raising new questions about whether it is too selective to serve as a model for health-care reform. The White House has repeatedly held up for praise Mayo and other medical centers, many of which are in the Upper Midwest, that perform well in Dartmouth College rankings showing wide disparities in how much hospitals spend on Medicare patients.

Sawickipedia: The current pub/private insurance system is broken and the proposed “reforms” only double down on the current broken system. Why isn’t the loyal opposition not touting plans like this from this Atlantic article? Sigh. http://bit.ly/ZBOUf

There is no loyal opposition. There’s another political party which lost every election they could find and then goaded their crazier members into talking active about assassination, got them to wear guns to O’s speeches, etc. They’ll happily sacrifice the country and all its citizens to prevent O from getting a second term.

Ivan sez: there are crazy people everywhere, and some are on TV with lots of views. The loyal opposition is a collection of principled people who have plenty of ideas, but aren’t currently represented in the GOP. So please differentiate between people like me, and people like pretty much every republican senator.
I believe my ideas for <crisis de jour> are better than either ruling party, and also that the current options will be a complete cluster fuck. Given that latter half, it’s really quite funny, in a morbid sort of way, how right people think they are while being so wrong.
The status quo is fucked, and the plans will make it worse.
