Women who worked full time in wage and salary jobs had median weekly earnings of $657 in 2009. This represented 80 percent of men’s median weekly earnings ($819).
Things like this should really have a 3rd dimension of years or hours on the job. Everyone agrees a lawyer with 10 years experience should be paid more than a lawyer with 5 years experience, all things being equal, right?
Women have kids and trade experience and money for awesome new humans. I’m not saying bias is absent, but you need to account for it. Otherwise, it is way too easy for someone like me to dismiss it out of hand.
